The repayment of a loan decreases the bank account balance, but has no impact on profit. This may surprise you. The reasoning behind this is that in principle, paying back a borrowed amount is a neutral operation. You get money from the bank and you give it back. To be able to use this money, however, you have to pay a fee: the interest. This needs to be included in the calculation of profit.
